Retaining Wall Builder and Repairs
Eastern Suburbs and Inner West
A retaining wall holds back ground, water and everything sitting on top of it. When one starts to crack, lean or leak, it rarely fixes itself, and the longer it is left, the bigger the job becomes. We build new retaining walls and repair failing ones across Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and Inner West, to an engineered design, with the drainage and reinforcement done properly behind it.
Signs your retaining wall needs attention
It is leaking, bulging or tilting forward
Cracks are opening up, especially ones that are getting wider
Water pools behind it or seeps through the face after rain
The ground above it is slumping, or a fence or path on top has moved
It was built without drainage, or the drainage has blocked up
If you are seeing any of these, it is worth a look before the next big downpour.
What we do
New retaining walls. Built to an engineered design for your site, whether that is concrete, block, sandstone or timber.
Retaining wall repair and replacement. Assessing why a wall is failing and fixing the cause, not painting over the symptom.
Drainage and waterproofing. The work behind the wall that decides how long it lasts.
Remedial and structural building. Retaining walls often come with related movement or water issues; we handle those too.
How we build a wall that lasts
Most retaining walls fail for the same reason: water with nowhere to go. A wall that looks fine on day one but has no drainage behind it is on a clock. We build to the engineer’s design, get the drainage and reinforcement right, and photograph that hidden work before it is covered, so you have a record of what went in. If your site needs an engineer’s design and we think it does, we will say so.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Usually water building up behind it with no drainage, ground movement, or a wall that was undersized for the load. The fix depends on the cause, which is why we look before quoting.
-
Often, yes, particularly for taller walls or ones holding up a structure. We work to engineers’ designs regularly and can point you to consultants we work with regularly if you do not have a relationship already.
-
Sometimes a repair is enough; sometimes the wall is past it and replacing is cheaper over time. We will give you the honest answer either way.
